Possibly labor starting?

Hello ladies! Im currently 38 weeks pregnant. Today at my dr appt i was 2cm dilated 50% effaced. My doctor stripped my membranes and told me unfortunately that i probably only had a 30% chance of the stripping working. Up until about 6 o clock tonight ( about 8 hours after my appt) i have started feeling stronger contractions and heavy period like cramping. The cramping is only when im standing up and walking though. Im starting to wonder if i could possibly be going into labor tonight. What do you think ladies? Thank you to everyone who answers
