Septate Hymen Removal questions?

Today I just found out that I have a septated hymen. I know it's not a bad thing...it just sometimes may complicate the use of tampons & possible intercourse in general. The gyno told me that I can get that extra piece of membrane removed.....now i'm 19 and i'm literally curious...if I get the extra septate membrane removed with the surgery procedure....does that mean I will no longer be a virgin? Or will I stil be a virgin until the day I have sex? Just the procedure is removing part of it? I'm confused!!
