Will Doctor induce labor at 38-39 weeks so I wont be alone after I have the baby?

My husband may be starting a new job in a couple weeks and if he gets it he wont be able to attend our child's birth and I will be left alone with a newborn. I really don't think I can handle the stress w/o him. Do you think the doc wouldn't mind stripping my membranes or inducing me so my husband wont miss the birth?
